Meet Hudd, the ever-persuasive, slightly shady used car salesman of magical and mystical artifacts in Tavern Toons.
This clip highlights his character design journey—from early concept sketches to his finalized look in the series. With every iteration, we dialed in his personality: part medieval huckster, part fantasy-world wheeler-and-dealer, with a magical grin and a cloak full of questionable deals.
Designing characters like Hudd is about more than aesthetics. It’s about building a backstory, capturing a voice, and creating someone who feels like they’ve always existed in the world—even if they’re trying to sell you a half-haunted sword.
Every detail tells a story, and Hudd has a few dozen (most of which end in a magical refund dispute).
